After testing a lot of products, we have selected the 8 best business laptops with display size above 17 inches for 2019 which are mentioned below. In our experiments, we have found these products most consistent in performance and true value for the money.
Acer Aspire 5, 17.3″ Full HD, 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8550U
With the current Acer Aspire 5 A517-51G, Acer conducts product maintenance and replaces the presently widespread seventh-generation Intel Core i Kaby Lake processors. The new CPUs form the foundation of the Acer Aspire 5 A517-51G. To be exact, we find in our test device the Intel Core i7-8550U, which has 8 GB of RAM at its disposal.
An Nvidia GeForce MX150 ensures… good multimedia performance. The operating system is located on a 256 GB SSD, and a 1 TB hard drive offers enough storage space for other data. Together with the 17-inch Full HD IPS panel, buyers are going to have to fork out 1089 Euros for the device with our review configuration, which Acer currently offers in its in-house store.
However, in the lowest configuration, the Acer Aspire 5 A517-51G costs 699 Euros. In this case, one must forgo the dedicated graphics card and an SSD. One will have to make certain concessions with the display, as well. Because the lower-priced device offers only a resolution of 1600×900 pixels. The processor still offers four cores, however now it goes by the name of “Intel Core i5-8250U”.
Acer Aspire E 17 E5-772G-52Q7 17.3-inch
At the time of testing, there was not much information available about Acer’s newcomer that will apparently be launched on the market in various configurations. Unfortunately, a related inquiry at Acer has remained unanswered. Therefore, we do not know, for example, whether our review sample will bear another name than Aspire E5-772G-70VP, and its price is not at all clear. Regarding the models, it is possible that there will be other versions with different storage device configurations, i.e. without an SSD or dedicated graphics card.
The most striking feature… of the non-slip, full-bodied plastic casing is the successful fabric-emulating pattern on the black lid’s back and the underside. The display frame and base’s finely structured upper side present a gray and charcoal black color. The linen pattern is especially susceptible to fingerprints, which gives a poor impression. The relatively thick lid is neither particularly robust nor pressure resistant. It can easily be opened with one hand and barely rocks after jerky movements.
Although the base can be warped almost noiselessly with some force, the construction gives a solid and well-constructed impression. The gaps are even, and there are no protruding edges. Input devices and the ClickPad have been fitted impeccably. Overall, the casing left the tester with an ordinary yet appealing impression.
Dell i5767-5889GRY Inspiron Pro
Its 17.3″ display, driven by integrated Intel HD Graphics 630, has a 1600 x 900 resolution for crisp and clear content reproduction. An integrated HDMI 1.4a port can be used to output video to an external display. For storage, this system is equipped with a 1TB 5400 rpm SATA 2.5″ hard drive that provides you with ample room for all your pictures, movies, data, and programs. Should you need more, you can connect external storage devices using its two USB 3.0 Type-A and one USB 2.0 Type-A ports, as well as its SD/SDHC/SDXC media card reader.
To connect to the Internet,… you can use its 802.11ac Dual-Band Wi-Fi or the 10/100 Fast Ethernet port for a more reliable and stable wired connection. Pair additional compatible wireless peripherals and accessories using Bluetooth 4.2 technology to save its USB ports for other devices. Other integrated features include a SuperMulti DVD drive, a 720 webcam, stereo speakers, and dual integrated microphones. The operating system installed is Windows 10 Pro (64-bit).
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8’s Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Lenovo IdeaPad 320 17-Inch Laptop
Notebooks like those are fun to window-shop and admire, sure. But if you just want a big screen, it’s a trifle hard to justify going over the top for machines of that caliber. You might not need Intel Xeon server-class processors or the latest in gaming hardware. Enough pep for day-to-day tasks will do just fine, thanks.
So, that leaves you with a question:… Just how much do you have to spend to get the basics, all wrapped in one big-screened package? How does $479 for a 17.3-inch notebook sound? That’s the starting price of the Lenovo Ideapad 320 we’re reviewing in this article. And that’s really all you have to spend; as we’ll discuss later, the base model we reviewed just happens to be the best value among its available configurations.
The Ideapad 320 does have some downsides, which we won’t be shy about pointing out in spite of its wallet-friendly price. Either way, like beauty, value is in the eye of the beholder. If a big screen at the lowest possible price point is what you’re after, the Ideapad 320 is about as inexpensive as they come, in terms of screen-to-money ratio. Let’s take a closer look. (Actually, we’ll take a step back and then take a look, as this thing is pretty big.)
HP ENVY 17-inch Laptop, Intel Core i7-7500U
The 17-inch Envy is an elegant desktop replacement with an aluminum chassis that matches the all-metal minimalism that Apple popularized several years back. Updated for 2017, the laptop chassis has seen some minor changes since we reviewed the previous version, including a slimmer, lighter chassis. The laptop isn’t made entirely of aluminum, but the silver finish on the plastic underside matches the bare-metal look of the lid and palm rest so well that you’d be forgiven for thinking it was.
The laptop isn’t small… by any stretch of the imagination, measuring 16.4 x 11.1 x 0.92 inches and weighing 6.4 pounds. But it is thinner and lighter than the previous version of the Envy 17 (1.0 inch thick, 6.6 pounds) and closer in weight to the Dell Inspiron 17 7000 2-in-1 (16.2 x 10.9 x 0.9 inches, 6.2 pounds), albeit without the convertible design. The less expensive Dell Inspiron 17 5000 measures 16.7 x 11 x 1 inches and weighs 6 pounds, largely due to its all-plastic construction.
The Envy uses a drop-hinge design that raises the back end of the laptop when the display is open, promoting better airflow for cooling and raising the keyboard to a comfortable angle for typing. Instead of an attached foot running along the back of the lid, the updated design incorporates the drop hinge into the lid, as a single piece.
Lenovo Ideapad 700 – 17.3″ FHD Laptop
The Lenovo Ideapad Y700 is noticeable improvement for the Y gaming series, with an improved display and beefier spec options, making it an excellent choice for users that want to game on the go without breaking the bank.
Lenovo’s gaming Y series… has long been a steadfast option for consumers that want to play the latest games without spending a fortune. But last year’s Lenovo Y50 was a bit of a disappointment, with a subpar display and slow HDD. Lenovo seems to have taken those criticisms to heart with the completely rebranded Y700 series.
The 15-inch Ideapad Y700 holds many of the same cornerstones that the Y series was known for; dependable understated design, sturdy build quality, and affordable performance. Add in the improved display with added brightness and an SSD option and you have a compelling mid-range gaming notebook.
ASUS ASUSPRO P2710JA-XS51 17.3
The ASUSPRO Essential P2520LA comes in a simple plastic case. ASUS speaks of a “brushed-hairline” look – a plastic imitation which resembles brushed aluminum. Only a chrome-colored “ASUS” logo decorates the otherwise completely black notebook.
What attracts negative… attention is that fingerprints are clearly visible on the case. A maintenance hatch is missing. If you want to clean the fan or upgrade the system, you have to remove the entire underside. Our test model has a free RAM slot for upgrading the RAM. Overall, the build quality of the ASUSPRO is good.
Asus offers the notebook with an unlit keyboard. The keys are slightly roughened and offer a good pressure point. The palm rest and the keyboard part are made from a single piece. As a result, the keyboard hardly yields when typing. The keys are decently sized and are all on one level. The number pad keys are slightly smaller than the rest.
MSI Computer CX72 6QD-208US 17.3
The MSI Computer CX72 6QD-208US model is a fantastic device that will run almost any program without any issues whatsoever, but on the other hand is pretty bulky, heavy and impractical in most cases, except for maybe exclusive home or office use. So, depending on your needs, this one may be one of the best buys around or a complete nuisance because of its lack of portability.
The MSI CX72 6QD-208US features… an Intel Core i5-6300HQ processor. Launched late in 2015, this quad core CPU has 6 megabytes of cache, a clock speed of 2.3 GHz which goes up to 3.2 GHz when operating using Turbo Boost Technology and comes with an abysmal, but ultimately unavoidable thermal design power of 45 Watts. Benchmark tests rate the i5-6300HQ at just under 5800 points, placing it the higher echelons of mobile processors.
System memory is also rather impressive. The MSI has 12 gigabytes of DDR4-2133 SDRAM available – more than you’ll actually need on a daily basis, whether it’s heavy multitasking, gaming or running virtual machines. I doubt anyone will hit a wall soon with this much DDR4 ram which by the way, is overall faster than the previous DDR3 generation.
